The Crime Desk: The deep depression formed in the southwest area of the Bay of Bengal has moved further west-northwestward and is currently located in the same area (11.4 degrees north latitude and 82.7 degrees east longitude). The Met Department said the deep depression may move further west-northwest and intensify.
According to a special notification (9) of the Meteorological Department on Sunday (December 3) morning, the deep depression was 1570 km south-west of Chittagong seaport, 1515 km south-west of Cox’s Bazar seaport, 1450 km south-southwest of Mongla seaport, and 1450 km south-southwest of Payra seaport on Saturday (2nd December) midnight. It was located 1450 km south-southwest.
Meteorologist Md. Tariful Nawaz Kabir said that the sustained maximum wind speed within 48 km of the deep depression center is 50 kmph, increasing to 60 kmph in the form of gusty winds. Along with this, the sea is rough in the area near the deep, low-pressure center.
In this situation, remote warning signal No. 01 continues in Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra seaports. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has asked all the fishing boats and trawlers in North Bay of Bengal and deep sea to move carefully near the coast until further notice.
