Patuakhali Correspondent: The Bangladesh Navy is today well known as a modern and three-dimensional navy under the extraordinary wisdom, foresight, and guidance of the Prime Minister. In order to achieve the future development and prosperity of Bangladesh, the Navy is being developed as an up-to-date and technologically advanced Smart Navy, which will be able to play a leading role in sea-based economic activities in addition to ensuring the country’s sovereignty and security.

Admiral M. Nazmul Hasan, Chief of the Bangladesh Navy, said

He said that with the aim of building a prosperous navy, various classes of ships, special forces, helicopters, MPAs, and submarines have already been added to the fleet, and several naval bases have been commissioned.

He said these words at the graduation ceremony of 671 young sailors of the B/2023 batch of the Navy at Banauja Sher-e-Bangla base in Lalua Union of Patuakhali at 11 o’clock on Saturday (December 2).

Nazmul Hasan also said to the young sailors that the duties assigned to them should be completed with skill, loyalty, and professionalism for the needs of the country.

Besides, he also urged the Navy to play a proactive and effective role in increasing its reputation in the national and international arena.

High-ranking military and civilian officials, along with the assistant naval chief and regional commander of the Khulna naval region and the parents of young sailors, were present on the occasion.

Before this, the young sailors swore to sacrifice their lives for the country with red and green flags in their hands and loud voices. A pleasant parade was held at this time.

Later, first-place winner Tahajjat Hossain Tapu was awarded the ‘Naupradhan’ medal, second-place holder Fardil Hossain was awarded the ‘Kamkhul Padak’, and third-place holder Ashifur Rahman was awarded the ‘Sher-e-Bangla’ medal for the best in all aspects, including discipline, morale, and the parade of the young sailors.

The 671 sailors who successfully complete the 22-week-long initial or bootcamp training are said to move on to other training schools for further training.
