City Reporter: ‘Vijay Train’ left Jamalpur directly from Chattogram on the first hour of Vijay month. Yesterday, Friday, December 1, 2023, this train started its journey from Chittagong railway station to Jamalpur at around 9.15 a.m.
A discussion meeting organized by Jamalpur District Association Chittagong and Greater Mymensingh Association Chittagong was held at Chittagong Railway Station on the occasion of the inauguration of the Jamalpur railway connection directly with Chittagong.
Jamalpur District Association Chittagong President and Greater Mymensingh Association Chittagong General Secretary Engineer Mohammad Shamim inaugurated the direct Jamalpur rail link from Chittagong.
In his opening speech, Engineer Mohammad Shamim said, “On behalf of the Jamalpur District Association of Chittagong and Greater Mymensingh Association of Chittagong, I express my best wishes and gratitude to the Honorable Prime Minister for increasing the direct rail link from Chittagong to Jamalpur.” I am expressing my gratitude to Hon’ble Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan. Greetings and congratulations to the Director General of Bangladesh Railway. To Kamrul Hasan: Railways are our national wealth, so everyone should be aware of how to protect this wealth.
He also said that the role of Jamapur Zilla Samiti Chittagong and Greater Mymensingh Samiti Chittagong in establishing a direct rail link from Chittagong to Jamalpur is immense. I express my sincere gratitude and congratulations to those who were involved in this great event, and I express my strong support for the extension of the Vijay Train from Chittagong to Jamalpur on behalf of all the people of Jamalpur and Greater Mymensingh living in Chittagong.
