Dhaka Bureau: The year 2023 is likely to be a year of crisis due to several reasons including the Russia-Ukraine war after Covid-19. So everyone should be prepared. For this, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Cabinet have given a series of observations and instructions including increasing food production.
Cabinet Secretary Khandkar Anwarul Islam said these things in a press conference at the Secretariat after the Cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s office on Monday (November 14). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting.
Cabinet Secretary said, ‘We have to increase food production. In the last five-six months we have seen food crisis. Food production will double in the next one to three years. Sufficient seed production is also being arranged.
The secretary also said, ‘Cock is not a Pakistani chicken, it is developed in Joypurhat. Our scientists have made it. They named this chicken Sonali. In this way, food production should be increased using scientific methods.
He said, “There is no fee to send remittances from now on.” Remittance will be arranged only with name and identity card. Initiatives have been taken to increase foreign investment. Investors should go to Bida only. Arrangements should be made so that they do not have to go to the city corporation or the municipality to take the license.
