Earthquake reports were received from Chuadanga, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Comilla, Feni, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Rangpur, and Kushtia in the country.
The earthquake was felt around 9:36 a.m. on Saturday, December 2. However, no damage was immediately reported.
According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) and the US Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake was 45 km southwest of Comilla and 8 km northeast of Ramganj in Laxmipur.
Its depth was only 10 km from the surface. Its magnitude was 5.5 on the Richter scale.
