Rajshahi Correspondent: Five people, including four members of the same family, were killed in the Puthiya truck crash on the Rajshahi highway. The accident happened on Saturday, October 25, around 2.30 p.m. in the Belpukur area of Puthia. One person died on the spot, and four others died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Several people were injured. The deceased are Insab Ali (75) of Kantpur village of Gurdaspur upazila of Natore, his son Ayub Ali Labu (35) and daughter Parveen Begum, Insab Ali’s granddaughter Sharmin, a class 12 student of Shah Makhdoom College in Rajshahi, and Mokhlesur Rahman (45), a CNG driver of Mokimpur village of the same upazila.
Police and witnesses told the media that the autorickshaw was going towards Rajshahi with passengers. At that time, a truck carrying TCB goods from Chapainawabganj was going to Natore. Five people in an autorickshaw died on the spot when the truck hit the Belpukur area of the Puthia section of the highway.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Jamilur Rahman told the media that the police have received information about the deaths of five people in the accident. Many others were injured. Police and rescue workers are on the scene. The bodies of the deceased are in the mortuary of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
