Dhaka Bureau: The Secretary General of the Jatiya Party has made an official announcement to participate in the 12th Parliament election on the instructions of opposition leader Golam Mohammad Quader. Mujibul Haque Chunnu.
He made this announcement at a press conference at the office auditorium of the National Party Chairman’s office on Wednesday (November 22) afternoon.
Mujibul Haque Chunnu said that Jatiya Party Chairman and Opposition Deputy Leader Ghulam Mohammad Quader has decided to participate in the elections by believing in the promises of the Election Commission and the concerned parties. Officially announcing that the National Party will participate in the election on the instructions of the party chairman.
He said we have been assured by all the relevant media, including the Election Commission, that the election will be free, impartial, and acceptable. Voters will be able to exercise their right to vote freely. The relevant circles, including the Election Commission, have assured us. Believing in their promises, the party chairman decided to participate in the election.
We have almost completed all our preparations for the election. But it has not been announced whether we will go to the elections or not. As we have always said, we want an environment of trust. Voters should go to the polling station and vote.
In response to another question from the journalists, Mujibul Haque Chunnu said that the Jatiya Party will not join any coalition. The election will be held in three hundred seats. We have sold around 1400 nomination forms until noon. In almost every constituency, more than one interested candidate has accepted the nomination form.
“We will conduct the election alone as per our announcement. We will not compromise seats with anyone. Jatiya Party does transparent politics; there is no accusation of corruption against Jatiya Party. For the past 33 years, the people of the country have preferred our peaceful politics. We are hoping that we can compete strongly in 300 seats.
