Dhaka Bureau: 1212 forms were sold on the second day of the sale of the Awami League’s nomination forms for the upcoming 12th National Parliament elections. Among them, 1180 people bought the nomination form directly. And 32 people bought the nomination form online.
On Sunday (November 19) afternoon, after selling nomination forms at the Awami League’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue, the party’s office secretary, Barrister Biplab Barua, gave this information to reporters.
He said that on the second day, 1180 forms were collected by the nomination aspirants from the central office of the Awami League. Besides, another 32 people have collected the form online. In all, 1212 forms have been sold. Through this, the party earned 6 crore 6 lakh taka.
1074 nomination forms were sold on the first day, on Saturday. This adds 5 crore and 37 lakh taka to the income account of the party. And in these two days, the party has sold a total of Tk 11 crore and 43 lakh nomination forms.
At this time, Biplab Barua said that the popularity of the Bangladesh Awami League has increased day by day. The office secretary of the party said that the participation of candidates in the local elections has also increased.
He said we expect a greater or equal number of nomination forms to be sold in the next two days as compared to these two days.
In response to a question, Biplab Barua said that the Awami League was the first to start selling nomination forms online. No other team has done this. It will take time for this process to become popular. 46 people have collected nomination forms online in the last two days. This number is not low.
Earlier, the ruling Awami League started selling nomination forms at the party’s central office yesterday (Saturday) morning. The program was officially started by collecting the nomination forms of the party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Since then, candidates have been collecting nomination forms in the spirit of the festival.
