Boat traffic stopped, and 450 tourists were stranded in St. Martin

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: The Meteorological Office has issued a local warning signal number 3 due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. As a result, the upazila administration has announced the suspension of all types of boats, including tourist ships, on the Teknaf-Saint Martin waterway. It has been reported that around 450 tourists visiting the island have been stranded.

Teknaf Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) said that all types of boats, including tourist ships, will be closed from Thursday (November 16) until further notice. Adnan Chowdhury.

He said that due to the influence of low pressure, the weather conditions are unfavorable, and due to rough seas, all types of vessels, including tourist ships, have been instructed to stop on the Teknaf-Saint Martin route. If the situation is normal, the shipping will resume. Then the tourists there can come back.

Chairman of Saint Martin’s Union Parishad Mujibur Rahman said, due to hostile weather, the upazila administration has ordered to stop the movement of ships. 450 tourists are stranded in Saint Martin. I hope the weather will be favorable. Then tourists can go back.
