Such a picture was seen in the CCTV video footage on that road yesterday. Chandgaon police station arrested young Mohammad Shakeel (23) who led the abduction after seeing the footage. This morning, the police arrested Shakeel in the Patharpara area of Sitakunda upazila of the district.
Chandgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zahidul Kabir told the media that her teenage daughter was abducted in front of her mother in the afternoon. A case was registered in this incident at night. After that, the police quickly arrested the main accused, Shakil, after seeing the CCTV camera footage. The girl was also rescued. An operation is underway to arrest the others involved in the incident.
OC Zahidul Kabir also said that accused Shakil and the girl’s house are next to each other. Shakeel works in a factory. The girl will take the SSC exam this time. Shakeel almost teased him. During preliminary interrogation, Shakeel admitted that he picked up the girl on the advice of a friend.
