The last rites of seven people killed in a road accident in Hathazari were completed in Chandnaish

Chandnaish Correspondent: The last rites of 7 people of a family who died in a bus-CNG head-on collision at Charia, Hathajari, Chittagong, were performed at the family crematorium of those who died in the tide of Chandnaish. In the presence of expatriate Narayan Das, who mourned the loss of seven members of the family, including wife Rita Rani Das, two daughters Srabanti Das and Varsha Das, and twin sons Dwip Das and Digant Das, the dead bodies were brought to the pyre, cremated, and buried in the pit. The last rites were completed with the help of the Chandanish Upazila administration on Wednesday morning, November 8.

Upazila Chairman Abdul Jabbar Chowdhury, Upazila Executive Officer Mahmuda Begum, and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Diplomacy Chakma were present on behalf of the upazila administration to pay their respects to the deceased. Earlier on this day, the funeral ceremony started under the leadership of the Gauchia Committee. On this occasion, a team consisting of men and women led by Upazila Vice Chairman Maulana Solaiman Faruqi, Chief Coordinator of Chandnai Upazila of Gausia Committee Bangladesh Service and Burial of the Dead, participated in the last rites of the deceased.

The member of parliament for Chittagong-14 Constituency, Alhaj Md., expressed deep grief, among others. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, South District A-League General Secretary Mofizur Rahman, Upazila A-League General Secretary Abu Aham Chowdhury Junu, and Zoara Union Parishad Chairman Amin Ahmed Chowdhury Rokon, along with local dignitaries and social and political leaders

In this incident, Chinu Das, wife of deceased Sachindra Das from Satbaria, Narayan’s sister Upazila, and Biplab Das, son of Narayan’s elder brother, crippled Shambhu Das, were also killed; only Bappa Das survived. There are eight people. Everyone was going from Chandnaish to Phatikchari for a relative’s Shraddha ceremony. On the way, seven people died in a tragic road accident in Hathajari. They were residents of Dhopa Para, Ward No. 4, Jora Union, and Chandnaish Upazila.
