Dhaka Bureau: Preparations have been made, and there is an atmosphere to announce the schedule of the twelfth parliamentary elections in the second week of November, said Election Commission Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam. The EC spokesperson gave this information in a press briefing at his office in the election building on Wednesday.
The EC secretary also said, “There is an atmosphere like announcing the election schedule completely.” The CEC has repeatedly said that it is determined to hold elections within the stipulated time.
Md. Jahangir Alam said, ‘The 12th Parliament election is imminent. Elections should be organized within the stipulated time as per the constitution. As per custom, before announcing the schedule, the Commission paid a courtesy call to His Excellency the President. In continuation of this, the meeting is scheduled for Thursday.
In that case, His Excellency the President will be informed about all the progress related to the election preparations. If His Excellency the President has suggestions and instructions regarding the preparation, the Commission will listen to them. The jurisdiction to declare the schedule rests entirely with the Election Commission. The commission meeting in this regard has not been held yet.
