Correspondent: A day laborer named Abu Syed (26) was electrocuted in the Jangal Padua area of Lohagara Upazila in South Chittagong. Two more people were injured. On Tuesday, November 7, at around 9 a.m., a person accidentally touched a power line while straightening the iron rod of a house under construction in the Jangal Padua area of the upazila. As a result, he was stunned and fell down. At the same time, two other workers were also injured on the spot.
Local people rescued these 3 people, Abu Syed lost his life on the way to Lohagara Upazila Health Complex. He is the son of Nurul Haque of the Jangal Padua area. It is known that this day a laborer is physically challenged and the father of one son.
The injured are the sons of Kalu Mia of North Padua Badlapara of the upazila. Abdul Mabud (44) is the son of Miru (34) and Naju Mia of Khord Kenochia of Chadaha Union of Satkania Upazila. The doctor on duty at Lohagara Upazila Health Complex said that after the initial treatment, Abdul Mabud was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. The other injured person was released after receiving first aid.
On receiving the news of the incident, the officer-in-charge of Lohagara police station, Md. Rashedul Islam, and a team from the Chittagong Palli Vidyut Samiti-1 Satkania zonal office visited the spot along with Sangeet force.
