Mymensingh Correspondent: At least four people were killed when a bus collided with a billboard pole in Mymensingh city. Another 40 people were injured.
The accident took place in the Shikarikanda area of the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway on Monday (November 6) around 12:30 p.m. Confirming the truth of the accident, Mymensingh Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shah Kamal Akand said, “The Sherpur-bound Fayaz Travels passenger bus from Dhaka was coming towards Mymensingh. While overtaking the truck in the Shikarikanda area, the bus lost control and hit the billboard. At this time, the billboard broke and fell on the bus. Four people, including the bus driver, died on the spot. Initially, it was not possible to identify the identities of the victims.
Deputy Inspector of Police (SI) on duty at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, Jahangir Alam, said, ‘So far, 40 people have come to the hospital with injuries. The body of the bus driver has been kept in the hospital morgue.
