A passenger bus caught fire in Anwara

Anwar Correspondent: On the second day of the BNP-Jamaat nationwide blockade, miscreants set fire to a passenger bus standing on PAB road on the north side of Chatri Choumuhani market in Anwara upazila around 5 a.m. on Monday.

The police of the Anwar police station went to the spot upon receiving the information but could not arrest anyone. Anwara police station OC Sohail Ahmed confirmed the matter.

The OC said that miscreants had set fire to a passenger bus standing on the PAB road in the Chatri Choumuhani area. The police quickly brought the fire under control with the help of locals. However, there were no casualties as the bus was empty.

Eyewitnesses said that the bus was standing near the mosque in Chatri Choumhani Bazar early on Monday morning. Suddenly, some people came and set fire to the bus and escaped. Later, the police reached the spot and took the bus away.
