Kushtia Correspondent: Three former BNP MPs and BNP leaders, Syed Mehdi Ahmed Rumi, Sohrab Uddin, and Reza Ahmed Bachchu, have been arrested by the police in Kushtia. They were arrested in separate places around noon on Tuesday.
The arrested are Kushtia District BNP President and former Member of Parliament of Kushtia-4 Constituency veteran freedom fighter Syed Mehdi Ahmed Rumi, General Secretary and former Member of Parliament of Kushtia-3 Sadar Constituency Sohrab Uddin, and Daulatpur Upazila BNP President and former Member of Parliament of Kushtia-1 (Daulatpur) Constituency. Kushtia Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Syed Ashiqur Rahman said that District BNP President Syed Mehdi Ahmed Rumi and General Secretary Principal Sohrab Uddin were arrested in front of the district BNP office on NS Road in Kushtia city. At this time, 18 cocktails were seized. Their arrest was shown in the sabotage case.
Meanwhile, Daulatpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said that upazila BNP president and former member of parliament Reza Ahmed Bachchu Molla was arrested from his residence in the Taragunia area of Daulatpur upazila in a previous sabotage case.
