Dhaka Bureau: Zahidul Islam Arafi, who identified himself as the adviser of US President Joe Biden, has been sent to jail in a case of breach of trust by false identity. Monday (October 30): Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Ali Haider ordered him to be sent to prison.
On this day, the accused, Zahidul Islam Arefi, was brought to court by the police. After that, Sub-Inspector Suzanur Islam of Paltan Model Police Station requested to keep him in jail till the investigation of the case against him is completed. At the end of the hearing, the court ordered Arefi, the fake adviser to Biden, to be sent to prison. Sub Inspector Shah Alam, officer of the general registration branch of Paltan police station, informed the matter.
Before this, Zahidul Islam Arefi was arrested at the capital’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on October 29. Incidentally, on the day of BNP’s general meeting, news spread that a delegation from the US Embassy was going to BNP’s office. After that, a person named Zahidul Islam Arefi held a press conference at the BNP office in Naya Paltan in the guise of US President Joe Biden’s adviser. At one stage, doubts arose about him. According to the US Embassy in Dhaka, Zahidul Islam Arefi is not a member of the US government. Arefi was arrested soon after. After the arrest, when the real news came out, the matter became a topic of discussion across the country.
Meanwhile, after the arrest of Arefi, it is known that Zahidul Islam Arefi’s nickname is Bellal. He was born and brought up in Ullapara, Sirajganj district. He lives in Maryland, USA. Sometimes Zahidul Islam Arefi came to Bangladesh. Arefi said that they were asked to identify Biden’s advisor from BNP.
