Dhaka Bureau: The National Identity Card (NID) service will be closed for the next 64 hours from 5:00 PM today, Thursday, for server room transfer work. Mamunur Hossain, system analyst of the Election Commission, gave this information on Wednesday (October 25).
The Election Commission has informed us that all server and network-related services will be closed until the night of October 28 to transfer all the equipment, including servers, networking devices, and storage, to the main room. Services will resume as usual on October 29 at 9 a.m.
175 public and private institutions, including mobile operators, financial institutions, law enforcement agencies, and others, are using the NID server to verify the identity of citizens.
Earlier, on September 19, the Election Commission suddenly stopped the National Identity Card service without any prior announcement. On that day, this service of public importance was closed. The next day, Wednesday, the service resumed after 2 p.m.
