Nagar Reporter: In Chittagong, a complaint was received for transporting sand in a postal transport vehicle (covered van) of the postal department. A written complaint has been given to the Director General of Posts in this regard.
It is known that the Dhaka Metro No. 14-0928 car is allocated for postal transport on the Chittagong-Kaptai line under the Chittagong Division Office of the Postal Department. Ashraful Islam is responsible for driving this car.
It is supposed to transport valuable documents, parcels, and even money from home and abroad on the designated line every day. The postal vehicle also has a special vault for keeping money. But recently, some ordinary officers and employees have seen the incident of transporting sand by this vehicle.
They were surprised to see the sand-filled vehicle on the city streets and later in the GPO compound. They reported the matter verbally to the local authorities. Later, I was also informed in writing.
When asked about this, Chittagong GPO Senior Postmaster Mohsin Uddin told the media, “I have received a serious complaint about transporting sand in postal vehicles.” I informed Mr. PMG of this matter. As the car driver is his staff. He will take the necessary measures in this matter.
