Kushtia Correspondent: Kushtia Press Club KPC vice president and RTV staff reporter Sheikh Hasan Belal have been arrested by the District Intelligence Police.
According to District Intelligence Police sources, Shamim (46) son of Shajahan Malitha of Kalishankarpur (adjacent to Nishan Mor) area of the city and Bisharat Hossain, aka Bishu Butcher Robin Hossain (26) son of Kalishankarpur (Kasaipara) area were arrested on Sunday in a raid by Kushtia District Intelligence Police. The main accused, Imran, is still absconding.
A case has been filed in Kushtia Model Police Station in this regard. The accused, Imran and Shamim, were arrested with 2000 fensidil and detained in jail for a long time. Journalist Belal was recently released from jail. The other accused is a known drug addict in the Robin area. They are involved in various anti-social activities.
It is to be noted that around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Kushtia Press Club KPC vice president and RTV staff reporter Sheikh Hasan Belal were attacked at Nishan intersection in Kushtia city. Sheikh Hasan Belal has been sent to Dhaka.
