Khagrachari Correspondent: Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushaisingh said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman thought a lot about the hilly areas. He has come and seen the situation here several times. Every time he came, he said that this hilly area should be associated with the national current. If this area can be developed in various fields, including education, agriculture, and communication, the hilly area will not be a burden for anyone.
This region will be the largest resource area in the country. But what is the misfortune of the entire nation and the hill dwellers in the war of liberation? On August 15, 1971, the defeated power of Rajakar Albadar Alshams and some of our miscreants who opposed the freedom of this country collectively brutally killed Bangabandhu in his own family. The whole country came to a standstill.
On Sunday (October 1) afternoon, organized by Khagrachari Hill District Parishad, the principal checked the distribution of agricultural machinery and grants in various programs under the project entitled Tronddening Inclusive Development in Chittagong Hill Tracts (SID-CHT, UNDP) in the financial year 2022-2023 in RADP in the financial year 2022-2023. He also said that on that day, Sheikh Hasina said that the problem in the Chittagong Hill Tracts for more than two centuries has been bloodshed, hill-Bengal conflict, and people fleeing from their homes. He understood the pain of loss. On that day, Sheikh Hasina had promised that if the Awami League government could form a government, it would solve all the problems in the hilly areas. After coming to power after 21 years with the support of those waiting countrymen, the problem of Chittagong Hill Tracts has been marked as a royal problem among the various problems of the state, and within a year, Sheikh Hasina has established permanent peace in the hills by making the 1997 Chittagong Hill Tracts Peace Agreement editor.
He said that before Sheikh Hasina’s government came, there were 200 years of British era king-king, minister-MP, 23 years of Pakistan’s king-king, minister-MP, and 52 years of independence for Bangladesh. Many governments have come in between; they also had minister-MP. Why did none of them think about the mountainous region? In the 52 years of independence, the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, ruled the country for 3 and a half years, and today his privileged daughter, the mother of humanity, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has ruled the country three times in a row, only once before her. Why has no development been done after solving the problem here for so many years?
Today, the Sheikh Hasina government gives all kinds of allowances, including to the elderly and widows, and new books to the students at the beginning of the year. Sheikh Hasina is now a role model all over the world. Because of that, every country in the world takes the name of Bangladesh with respect. He speaks with his head held high in the court of the world. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League government has achieved 50 years of development in 15 years. Bangabandhu’s main dream was the independence and economic liberation of two Bangladeshs. To realize that dream, his daughter is working with conviction to build a digital, advanced, smart Bangladesh. Noting that the hilly area is now a rich area, along with various development projects in Khagrachari, the Minister of Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs, Bir Bahadur Ushaisingh, announced the construction of a modern standard municipal bus terminal to ease the city’s traffic congestion.

It may be noted that under the project entitled Trondening Inclusive Development in Chittagong Hill Tracts (SID-CHT,UNDP) in the financial year 2022-2023, the allocation of GOB funding to RADP includes the distribution of grant checks for agricultural machinery and various programs: 9 rice combine mills, 21 power tillers, 9 power reapers, 1 power presser, 4 combined harvesters, 15 pump machines, and 18 power spray machines. In addition, 9 rich combomills and 27 power reaper machines will be under the supervision of different Upazila agriculture offices and can be used by all the local farmers’ associations and groups based on the prescribed policies.
