Dhaka Bureau: Police headquarters has invited tenders to buy 52,000 sound grenades, including chemical multi-impact tearshells and flash bang grenades. Additional Superintendent of Police of Bangladesh Police Media and PR Department Inamul Haque Sagar confirmed this information to the media on Saturday.
It is known that the police headquarters called for this tender in three packages in one letter. 30 thousand sound grenades will be bought in the first package. The price of which is estimated to be around 20 lakhs. Also read 5 countries besides Bangladesh, the USA has banned visas.
In the second package, 15,000 multi-impact tear gas grenades will be purchased at the same price. And in the third package, 7 thousand flash bang grenades will be bought, the price of which is about 10 lakhs. In this regard, Additional Superintendent of Police of Media and PR Department of Bangladesh Police Inamul Haque Sagar said, ‘The purchases that are being made are part of our regular purchasing process.
These have been bought before. Meanwhile, security analysts believe that the administration is taking additional security measures to deal with any kind of unpleasant situation ahead of the elections.
The supplier company will supply this defense equipment to the Bangladesh Police within 120 days of opening the loan.
