The source of income is only the cultivation of two bigha plots of land and a private job with little income. This is the only way to support his family. Pyarul Islam wishes to plant trees till the last day of his life for the sake of the country and future generations. Not with any government or private support, he wants to plant trees till death with his own money.
Like his wife and son, he constantly takes care of the palm trees he planted. He collected about 5,000 palm seeds and planted them himself. Who is cutting the palm trees? Piarul Islam has a strong interest in planting trees. Since 2018, he has been collecting palm seeds from people’s houses. Besides, he bought seeds with his own money and planted trees along the roads of different villages, along canals, and even along railway lines.
Basically, lightning has increased in the country. To save people from this, Piyarul Islam went around and planted palm tree seeds in different villages in the district. Pyarul also got the support of local people in his work. I planted about 1000 palm seeds on two roads of the Bheramara-Raita road. Then, with the help of a local farmer, Pierul himself planted these palm seeds.
Farmer Piyarul Islam said that we are planting palm seeds in 5 years, from 2018 to 2023. So far, I have collected about 5,000 palm seeds and planted them myself. Palm seeds are planted along the roads of different villages, along canals, and along railway lines. In most cases, we try to plant in the field. Because there is more risk of lightning in empty fields, It also causes many deaths.
We collect palm seeds from people’s houses. Apart from this, we collect the rotten palm from various fruits and store it first. Then the seeds are planted from the end of Bhadra month until Kartik month. Piyarul Islam also said, ‘I want to plant trees for the sake of the country and future generations as long as I live.
We do not want the cooperation of any government or private organization in this work. Even if these trees grow up, I will have no claim. My only regret is that someone has cut down the planted palm trees in many places. My request to those who cut down the trees is yours. You will be useful in danger. Alhaj Shamimul Islam Chana, the former mayor of Bheramara Municipality, said that the planting of palm seeds by farmer Pyarul Islam is undoubtedly a great work.
He also planted palm seeds in our area. Growing it will benefit the environment, on the one hand. On the other hand, it will be useful in preventing lightning. Shaikhul Islam, agricultural officer of Bheramara upazila, said that the lightning has increased due to the removal of our lightning protection device.
Palm trees have a special need to protect against lightning. So everyone is encouraged to plant more palm seeds. Pyarul Islam is planting palm tree seeds on his own initiative.
