Lohagara Correspondent: 10 people, including women and children, were injured in a bus-truck collision in Lohagara. The accident took place at Golam Nabi Hazir Ghata of Ward No. 1 of Union on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Highway around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The injured were not immediately identified. Eyewitnesses said that a truck coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with a Yami Paribahan passenger bus heading towards Chittagong. About 10 passengers, including women and children, were injured. Locals rescued them and took them to different hospitals in the upazila.
The front ends of the two vehicles were crushed in the accident. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dohazari Highway Police Station, Khan Muhammad Erfan, said that after receiving the information, the force was quickly sent to the spot. The bus and truck involved in the accident were recovered and kept in the custody of the Highway Police. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
