Dhaka Bureau: The capital, Dhaka, and surrounding areas were shaken by the earthquake. The tremor was felt at 12:50 p.m. on Sunday (September 17).
According to search engine Google, the magnitude of the quake was 4.2 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was 12 km from Kaliakor in Gazipur.
However, no damage was immediately reported. Earlier, on August 14, around 8:50 p.m., an earthquake was felt across the country, including the capital. Its magnitude was 5.5 on the Richter scale.
