Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: 29 Rohingyas were detained in the check post and vehicle search operation in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar. On Saturday (September 16), these Rohingyas were arrested by setting up a check post in front of Ukhia College and searching their vehicles.
This was confirmed by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia Police Station, Sheikh Mohammad Ali. Sent to the Camp Incharge (CIC) at night to take legal action against the detained Rohingyas.
Ukhia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Mohammad Ali said, “A large number of Rohingya living in the camp were crossing the barbed wire fence and spreading to different places every day.” On receiving such information, the police of the Ukhia police station set up a check post and arrested 29 Rohingyas after conducting a search.
The OC also said, “Next, legal action has been taken against the arrested Rohingyas.” The matter is now being looked at by the camp in-charge (CIC). The OC said that many of the detained Rohingyas left the camp to work in shops and hotels and as day laborers in various houses.
