The Crime Desk: Sadar Thana police arrested Shaheen, a former activist of the Chhatra League, from Magura with a firearm. Shaheen is the son of Lutfar Rahman of Stadium Para in Magura city and the former organizing secretary of Magura Adarsh College Chhatra League. He was arrested at the Alodia Navaganga Bridge in Magura Sadar around 10 p.m. on Saturday (September 10).
Officer-in-Charge (OC-Investigation) of Sadar Police Station Ashraful Islam said that he was arrested from the Alokdia bridge of the Nabganga river in Sadar Upazila on the basis of secret information. Shaheen has been kept in police custody. He was interrogated. However, the firearm used by him has not been recovered (as of the writing of this report). An operation will be conducted on him for this.
A staff meeting of the volunteer party was held at the party office in the Islampur neighborhood of the city on Wednesday afternoon. At that time, a procession of volunteers from in front of the district judge court was passing through the party office to attend the meeting. On the way, the procession was attacked by the Chhatra League at Chowrangi Junction in the city.
Later, a clash broke out between the two sides. Meanwhile, Shaheen publicly displayed the firearm. A video of this incident quickly went viral on social media, including Facebook.
