In response to the question of why he made this effort, Habibur said, ‘I started working as a computer instructor in the social service office of Satkhira city around 2013. At that time, seeing the plight of the helpless and neglected poor people in the society, he became interested in doing something for medical care by their side. Since then I thought of doing something that would set a world record. From that thought comes the idea of writing the world’s largest Quran by hand.
He also said that he never went to madrasa in his life. I learned Arabic by watching YouTube. I wrote Al-Quran with my own hand in that foreign language out of love for God’s word. Not only writing, I also memorized two verses of the Qur’an. Now I want to do something for humanity.
Hamidur converted 3 thousand 408 art papers into 142 pages by glueing them together. Then he wrote the Quran. The weight of this handwritten Quran made by him is 405 kg. Red, blue, green and black colored leaves add to the beauty of the divine words.
Habibur’s mother Feroza Parveen said, ‘On January 1, 2016, my son started writing this Holy Quran by hand. His writing was completed on September 23 this year. By working extra hard and staying up all night, he wrote this Quran Sharif with his own hand. I pray that God always keeps my child well.

Incidentally, about 1400 and a half years ago, Allah revealed the verses of the Qur’an to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through Hazrat Gabriel (AS). After the verses were revealed, the Companions used to write them down by hand. Many handwritten manuscripts of the oldest Qur’an are preserved in museums around the world.
