Mirsarai Correspondent: An American expatriate was killed by a covered van on his way back from Mirsarai prayers. The accident took place on Saturday (September 2) evening in the area of Bariyarhat Municipality on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. Deceased Nur Ullah (36) Maulana Md. of Kadamtala village of Hinguli Union No. 2 of Mirsarai Upazila Yusuf’s son.
Nur Ullah’s uncle, Ishaq Masdu, said that on Saturday evening, a covered van ran over him while he was crossing the highway on his way home from Maghrib prayers at the Baryarhat Board Office Jame Masjid. One of his legs was severed. He was rushed to the Chittagong Medical College (CHMEC) Hospital, where he died at around 10 p.m. while undergoing treatment. He said that Nur Ullah’s family lives in America.
Two months ago, he came to visit the country with his wife and three daughters. The funeral will be scheduled when the parents come from America. Sohel Sarkar, in-charge of Zorarganj Highway Police Station, said, I am not aware of the death in the accident. Looking for information.
