Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid the toll as the first passenger after the inauguration of the country’s first elevated expressway. The Prime Minister inaugurated the section of expressway from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Tejgaon at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday (September 2).
After the inauguration, the Prime Minister was the first passenger on the runway. The Prime Minister boarded the expressway by tolling at the rate of Tk 80 per vehicle at the toll plaza at the Kaola end. Later, he left for the rally in Agargaon by car. Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina officially inaugurated the plaque of the elevated expressway installed next to the old trade fair ground of Agargaon in the capital by pressing the switch. At that time, his younger sister, Sheikh Rehana, was present with the Prime Minister.
Awami League General Secretary Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Atiqul Islam, Mayor of South City Corporation Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapos, and others After inaugurating the Airport-Tezgaon section of the expressway, the Prime Minister participated in the prayer. Later, Sudhi participated in the rally at the old trade fair ground in Agargaon. Incidentally, normal vehicles will be able to move on the flyover starting at 6 a.m. on Sunday. And the government has decided to open the remaining part from Tejgaon to Qutubkhali in June next year.
The length of the Airport-Farmgate section of the elevated expressway is 11.5 km. 13 of the 15 ramps are opening in this section, which is 11 km long.
