Dhaka Bureau: The 24th session of the 11th National Parliament begins on Sunday (September 3). The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed some restrictions to maintain peace and order in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan and its surrounding areas during the Parliament session.
The ban was issued in an order signed by DMP Commissioner Khandkar Golam Farooq on Saturday. It has been said that from today no weapons, ammunition or harmful explosives can be carried in the Sangsad Bhavan area. Besides, DMP has also issued some restrictions on traffic. It will remain in force from today till the end of the Parliament session.
Areas where this ban will be in force – From Mohakhali Crossing on Mymensingh Road to Old Airport to Banglamator Crossing, From the western end of Banglamator Link Road to Sark Fountain on Hotel Sonargaon Road, from the eastern end of Panthpath to Green Road Junction to Farmgate, from Shyamoli Junction on Mirpur Road to Dhanmondi – Junction of Road No. 16 (Old-27), Rokeya Sarani Junction to Old 9th Division (Aircraft) Crossing to Vijay Sarani Tourism Crossing, East end of Indira Road to West end of Manik Mia Avenue, Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan Reserve Area and within these boundaries All roads and lanes.
