Natore Correspondent: A college girl is staying at the house of a policeman named Rajikul Islam Pappu, who is demanding marriage in Bagatipara, Natore. The sensational incident happened in Panka-Solaipara village of the upazila. Meanwhile, it has been alleged that the family members tortured the young lady and her aunt while the lover stayed at Pappu’s house, demanding marriage. Currently, they are under treatment at Bagatipara Upazila Health Complex.
The college student started a hunger strike at the house of her lover’s policeman on Monday (August 29) morning. The accused, Rajikul Islam, is the son of Mustafa Islam of Panka-Solaipara village in Pappu Upazila. The victim said that she had a love relationship with Rajikul Islam Pappu about nine months ago. At one point, their love affair turns physical. A few days ago, she pressured her boyfriend, Pappu, for marriage. But Pappu did not agree to the marriage and started arguing.
At one point, he tried to compromise with the local political leaders by stopping communication. Forced, she started a hunger strike on Monday morning at her lover’s house, demanding marriage. Then Pappur’s family members threw him out of the house after beating him. Later, he continued his hunger strike in front of the house’s gate. When the victim’s aunt went to see her after getting the news, Pappur’s family members also beat her up. Later, the locals rescued them and admitted them to the hospital. The accused, Rajikul Islam Pappu, said that all the allegations against him are not true.
Legal action will be taken in this regard. Local UP Chairman (Acting) Helal Uddin said, “We tried to find a solution by sitting with both parties but could not solve it. The girl did this without any means. The resident medical officer of Upazila Health Complex, Dr. Sohanur Rahman, said the victim went home after treatment. Later, as his physical condition deteriorated, he was again admitted to the hospital.
Shafiul Azam Khan, OC of Bagatipara Model Police Station, said, I have heard of the incident of fighting. In this regard, the victim’s aunt has complained on behalf of the college. Legal action will be taken after the investigation.
