Dhaka Bureau: Uncle Roshan Ali and his nephew Mirazul Islam were shot dead in the Madhyakaichail Madrasa Mosque of Faridpur’s Nagarkanda police station about four years ago. Judge Jasmin Ara of Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 announced the verdict on Sunday, August 20.
The court ordered a death sentence for three of the criminals and a life sentence for two. Earlier, August 13 was scheduled to be announced in the court of Judge Jasmin Ara of Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-4. On that day, as the judge of Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 was sick, Acting Judge Ali Hossain fixed August 20 for the pronouncement of the verdict. On August 10, 2019, Roshan Ali, Mirazul Islam Tuhin, and others came out to the madrasa grounds after Asr prayers at Madhyakaichail Madrasa Mosque in Nagarkanda.
There, accused Awal Molla and Hanif Mia, alias Hridoy, and other accused ambushed them in a pre-planned manner. On the orders of accused Awal Molla, accused Hanif Mia, alias Hriday, and other accused fired with their firearms and short guns. Roshan Ali and Mirazul Islam Tuhin were shot and died on the spot. Gholam Rasul Biplab, Gholam Mawla, and seven others were fatally injured in the shooting.
