Kishoreganj Correspondent: A record 23 sacks of Tk were found after opening the eight donation boxes of the famous Pagla Mosque in Kishoreganj. The donation boxes were opened on Saturday, August 19. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad said that counting is now underway. He said, “The donation boxes were opened in the morning under the supervision of Kazi Mahua Mumtaz, Additional District Magistrate and convener of the donation box opening committee. Eight donation boxes were opened, and a record 23 bags of rupees were found. Now counting is going on.
After the calculation, the amount of money can be determined. He also said, ‘Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) ATM Farhad Chowdhury, Revenue Deputy Collector Sheikh Jaber Ahmed, Senior Assistant Commissioner (Land) Executive Magistrate Nashita-Tul Islam, Tania Akhtar, Nabila Ferdous, and Mahmuda Begum are involved in counting money. Sathi, Fatima-Tuz-Zohra, and Pesh Imam of the mosque Mufti Khalilur Rahman, Assistant General Manager (AGM) of Rupali Bank Rafiqul Islam, 112 students of the madrasa, 50 staff of the bank, 34 members of the mosque committee, and 10 members of the law enforcement force participated. Note that Pagla Mosque is one of the historical structures of Kishoreganj city.
The mosque was built on only 10 percent of the land on the banks of the Narsunda River in the Harua area in the west of the city. Its fame and historical value have increased with the scope of this mosque. A modern religious complex has been established around the mosque. The main mosque building has also been expanded. An initiative has been taken to build a beautiful Islamic complex of international standards at the traditional Pagla Mosque, initially estimated at Tk 115 crore. 60 thousand people can pray together there. Residents say that if you swear in this mosque, your heart’s hopes will be fulfilled. According to this belief, everyone donates regardless of caste and religion.
