EU delegation in Cox’s Bazar to inspect the Rohingya situation

Cox’s Bazar representative: The European Union (EU) Special Representative for Human Rights, Eamon Gilmour, arrived in Cox’s Bazar with a five-member delegation. They reached Cox’s Bazar Airport at 10 a.m. on Thursday (July 27). From the airport, the EU delegation led by Eamon Gilmour left for the Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Ukhia Upazila.

It is reported that the EU Special Representative for Human Rights visited the Rohingya registration program run by UNHCR at Ukhia Kutupalong Camp Number 4 at 11 a.m. Eamon Gilmour later visited the UNICEF-run Rohingya Children’s Learning Center and the Rohingya education program there.

However, in the afternoon of the same day, he visited the e-voucher center run by the United Nations World Food Programme. Eamon Gilmour later interacted with a delegation of the Rohingya community at UNHCR’s Community Center. The Rohingya delegation consisted of community leaders, men and women, and several Rohingya youths participated in the exchange.

He is also scheduled to visit the Rohingya Cultural Center run by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
