Dhaka Bureau: A Jubo League worker named Aliullah Rubel (36) was hacked to death in Shahjahanpur Gulbagh, the capital. Apart from politics, he ran an internet and egg supplier business in the area. The incident took place on Thursday (July 21) at around 1:15 a.m. on the road next to the house on Gulbag Jowardar Lane. He used to live in a rented house number 153/A in Jowardar Lane with his wife and only daughter.
His father’s name is Sheikh Nabi Ullah Khokon. They have their own house in Shanti Bagh. His sister-in-law is in the hospital. Mamun Ahmed Siddiqui said that Rubel was returning to his rented house in Jowardar Lane from Rajarbagh at night. On the way, near the house, 4-5 people hacked him with sharp weapons, injured him, and left him on the road. On hearing the news, the family members rescued him and first took him to Islami Bank Hospital.
From there, he was taken to Pangu Hospital and finally to Dhaka Medical, where the doctor declared him dead. All over his body, including his head, right hand, shoulder, and right leg, were injured by sharp weapons. The left leg is amputated. He also said that Rubel was the former office secretary of the Shahjahanpur Thana Chhatra League. But currently he is doing Jubo League politics. But was not in any position. He has an internet business in the area. Besides, he used to bring eggs from Tejgaon and supply them to Shantinagar and the Siddheshwari area. His wife, Tanzina Dewan, is a member of the Central Women’s Awami League. But the relatives could not tell who committed the murder.
Meanwhile, the officer in charge (OC) of Shahjahanpur police station confirmed the truth of the incident. Farukul Alam said that there are injuries from sharp weapons all over his body. The body has been kept in the morgue. Who and why is this incident being investigated? The killers will be brought to justice soon.
