Own Correspondent: A clash took place between BNP and Awami League leaders in the Lalkhan Bazar area of the city. Meanwhile, the leaders and activists of both parties vandalized 10 to 12 vehicles, including private cars, pickups, and motorcycles. The incident took place on Wednesday (July 19) around 5:30 p.m. It has been revealed that during the clash, BNP activists vandalized the election office of Awami League-nominated candidate Mohiuddin Bachchu in Chittagong-10 constituency in Lalkhan Bazar area.
This incident has spread tension in the Dampara Lalkhan Bazar area of the city. A large number of policemen have reached the spot. Meanwhile, Chhatra League and Jubo League workers have vandalized their positions in front of the BNP office in the Kazi Deuri area of the city, the leaders of the party have alleged.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chittagong Metropolitan Kotwali Police Station Zahidul Kabir said that the police are working to control the situation as tension has arisen in front of the BNP office in the city.
The activists of the Awami League-nominated candidate for Chittagong 10 Constituency, Mohiuddin Bachchu, complained that the BNP leaders and activists who participated in the march vandalized our election office.
Nagar BNP convenor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said that Chhatra League and Jubo League leaders and activists vandalized the city BNP office without any provocation. Meanwhile, 10–12 vehicles, including private cars, pickups, and motorcycles, were vandalized in the clash between the two sides.
