Sukanth Bikash Dhar, Satkania: In Satkania, there were allegations of vandalism in a terrorist attack at the residence of a UP member in the dark of night due to complications in the formation of the chairman’s panel. However, it is reported that no one was injured in the incident. The incident took place at Ali Chan Mia Bari, the residence of UP member Saiful Islam of Ward No. 8 of Charti Union of Upazila, on Tuesday night (July 18).
UP Member Saiful Chairman is alleging that the attack took place on the orders of Nurul Amin, UP Member of Ward No. 3, due to the complexity of the panel formation. Nurul Amin denied this. In this regard, Saiful Islam said, I and my family members woke up to the sound of banging on the main gate of the house on Tuesday late at night, around 3:30. When I went to the gate and asked who it was, I was introduced as the policeman from the other end.
When the matter was immediately reported to Satkania Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Shibli Noman on his mobile phone, he confirmed that it was not the police. 15-20 terrorists broke the doors and windows of the house, broke the lights, and tore the meter wire to open the gate. Apart from this, the doors of the neighbors were blocked so that they could not leave the house.
At the time of the incident, I went live on Facebook and informed my countrymen about the attack. Saiful complained that the conflict started with UP Nurul Amin of Ward No. 3 regarding the formation of the Chairman Panel. As Nurul Amin could not subdue me with influential public representatives and terrorists, one incident after another is happening. Last Thursday (July 13), the police came to my house and wanted to harass me. Currently, I and my family are suffering from insecurity. I am seeking the help of the administration and my countrymen for this.
In this regard, Nurul Amin said, Saiful himself is putting the blame on me by staging an attack in his own house. I am an innocent person, and these false and baseless things are being said to harass me. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Satkania police station, Md. Yasir Arafat, confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the police were sent at night after hearing the news of the incident. Legal action will be taken subject to the receipt of complaints.
It should be noted that the current chairman of Charati Union Parishad (UP) has recently Due to the temporary expulsion of Ruhullah Chowdhury and the absence of the chairman panel, the union residents are facing extreme hardship in getting various services from the council. Regarding this, Saiful Islam made an application with the signatures of most of the UP members to the Chittagong District Commissioner and UNOK regarding the formation of the Chairman Panel.
Currently, the investigation is ongoing in view of this application. However, Nurul Amin is systematically claiming himself as Panel Chairman 1.
