Sukanth Bikash Dhar, Satkania: The budget for the financial year 2023–24 of Chittagong’s Satkania municipality has been announced. Today (Tuesday) at around 11 a.m., the mayor of the municipality, Mohammad Jobair, announced the budget in a press conference organized at the Satkania Municipal Auditorium.
At this time, he announced a total budget of 63 crores, 78 lakhs, 80 thousand, and 701 tk.. In the proposed budget, the revenue sector is estimated at 7 crore, 10 lakh, 76 thousand, and 216 taka, and the expenditure is 6 crore, 8 lakh, and 80 thousand taka. 12 crores, 10 lakhs in government grants in the development sector, and 43 crores in the various projects sector. 55 crore and 95 lakh tk. have been spent on infrastructure development.
It has been proposed to allocate 14 lakhs for gender disparity, 21 lakhs for poverty alleviation, 1 crore for the acquisition of land for municipal buildings, 5 lakhs for financial grants to the poor, helpless, and needy, and 2 lakhs for the plantation and maintenance sectors.
1 crore 1 lakh 96 thousand 216 taka status is shown. Mayor Jobair said in his speech at the budget announcement ceremony that importance will be given to the development of law and order in the municipal area, roads, drainage, traffic congestion, education, culture, sports, lighting, a clean water supply system, waste management, and urban infrastructure development.
Declaring zero tolerance against drugs, the mayor said that those involved in drugs in the municipal area would not be exempt. Parents and conscious citizens should come forward for this.
