Dhaka Bureau: At the end of Hajj, 24 thousand 158 pilgrims returned home from Saudi Arabia on a total of 64 flights on three airlines. A total of 90 Hajj pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia so far.
On Friday (July 7) night, airlines carrying Hajj pilgrims, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, and the Hajj Office reported this information on the Hajj portal. Biman Bangladesh Airlines is distributing Zamzam water to pilgrims who came to the country through Biman, Flynas, and Saudia Airlines after performing Hajj. According to the instructions of the Saudi authorities, the pilgrims cannot personally transport Zamzam water with them.
It will be transported and distributed by the airlines. According to the rules, five liters of Zamzam water are being provided to each Haji, according to Biman. This year, a total of 1 lakh, 22 thousand, and 884 people from Bangladesh went to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.
A total of 325 flights were operated to carry these pilgrims. Among them, Biman Bangladesh Airlines carried 61 thousand 180 pilgrims in 159 flights, Saudi Airlines carried 41 thousand 468 pilgrims in 113 flights, and Flynas Airlines carried 20 thousand 236 pilgrims in 53 flights. The last return flight is scheduled to take place on August 2.
