Nagar Reporter: There was a back-and-forth chase between Chhatra League and Jubo Dal leaders and activists in the Chawkbazar area of the city. After that, there was an incident of vandalism against murals containing photos of Bangabandhu and the history of the liberation war in the Jamal Khan area of the city. Eyewitnesses said that leaders and activists of Juba Dal and Chhatra Dal were traveling in several mini trucks to attend the youth rally of the BNP in the Kazi Deuri area of the city. They kept shouting offensive slogans while passing in front of Mohsin College and Chittagong College. Then the students of those two colleges stopped the trucks. Then there was back and forth between the two sides.

At this time, they threw bricks and stones. Later, while leaving there, the leaders and activists of the Jubo Dal vandalized the mural containing photos of Bangabandhu and the history of the liberation war in the Jamal Khan area of the city. Jamalkhan Ward Councilor Shaibal Das Sumon told the media that youth leaders and activists have vandalized various places on the road, including Bangabandhu and liberation war photographs and history murals at the Jamalkhan intersection. A banner festoon of Youth Dal was found at the spot. On the surface, there are pieces of glass scattered on the pavement.

Pedestrians are walking on the road without getting a place to walk on the sidewalk. Mahmudul Karim, president of Chittagong College Chhatra League, said that BNP supporters were taking four to five trucks in front of Chittagong College and Mohsin College. At one stage, they started shouting ugly slogans about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. When they stopped them, they started throwing sticks and bricks from the truck. However, Mahanagar Juba Dal general secretary Mohammad Shahed denied the ugly slogans and mural vandalism.

He told the media that BCL workers stopped them when they came to the rally. As a result, there was an argument. However, there was no counterattack in response. No mural was broken. Jahidul Kabir, officer-in-charge of Kotwali police station, said that the leaders and workers of Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal vandalized the Jamal Khan area based on the incident in Chawkbazar.

At this time, as it is the time of school holidays, there is a traffic jam on the road. Common pedestrians have to suffer. The vandalism site is currently barricaded. The police are on the scene.
