Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to Switzerland on a three-day official visit. He is going on this trip on the occasion of attending the conference titled ‘World for Work Summit: Social Justice for All’. He will leave for Geneva from Dhaka on Tuesday (June 13) morning in the BG-207 flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The Prime Minister will arrive at Geneva International Airport at 5 p.m. local time. After the formalities at the airport, the Prime Minister will proceed to his residence during the visit.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will attend the conference titled ‘World for Work Summit: Social Justice for All’ and meet with the heads of state of various countries and heads of various international organizations. During the visit, the Prime Minister will meet Swiss Confederation President Alain Burset, Malta President George W. Bella, and South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa. Besides, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was accompanied by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, Prince Rahim Aga Khan, International Labor Organization (ILO) Director General Gilbert F. Houngbo, World Economic Forum Founder and Executive Chairman Prof. Klaus Schwab, and World Trade Organization Director General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. They will have a meeting. On the second day of the visit, on Wednesday (June 14), the Prime Minister will participate in the plenary session of the ‘World for Work Summit 2023’.
On the morning of the third day of the visit, the Prime Minister will participate in the program titled ‘New Economy and Society in Smart Bangladesh,” organized by the World Economic Forum. In the afternoon, the expatriate Bangladeshi community living in Switzerland will attend the civic reception. After his visit to Switzerland, he will leave for Dhaka from Geneva International Airport on Friday (June 16) around 11 a.m. local time. Will reach the country on Friday around 1:30 p.m.
