The OIC wants a permanent solution to the Rohingya problem

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Hussain Ibrahim Taha, Secretary General of the International Islamic Organization (OIC), visited the Ukhiya Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar and said, ‘OIC has always given importance to the Rohingya issue. The OIC wants a permanent solution to the Rohingya problem. We seek dignified and sustainable repatriation for Rohingyas in Bangladesh. I am continuing diplomatic efforts on this.

He said this during an exchange of views with a delegation of the Rohingya community at the Ukhia Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar on Monday afternoon.

The OIC Secretary General said, “The Gambia government has filed a case against Myanmar’s military junta in the International Court of Rohingya Genocide. The OIC is working to complete the trial process in that case.

At this time, the members of the Rohingya delegation addressed the OIC Secretary General with their various demands, including ethnic recognition, citizenship security, the return of their land, and a genocide trial in Myanmar.

OIC Secretary General Hussain Ibrahim Taha visited Ukhia Rohingya camp on Monday morning. He came to the Rohingya camp with a delegation of five members. When they arrived at Cox’s Bazar airport in the morning, they were welcomed by Cox’s Bazar district administration officials, UNHCR representatives, and Refugee Commission office officials.

According to Cox’s Bazar district administration sources, OIC Secretary General Ukhia reached the BRAC center at extended Rohingya camp number four around 10:30 a.m. Later, he exchanged views with a delegation of Rohingyas there. Visit a Rohingya youth center there and talk about the education program and daily life of the Rohingya youth. Later, I visited an IUCN-run center in the camp and visited the tree plantation program there.

In the afternoon, the OIC delegation visited a Rohingya learning center and an exhibition center for Rohingya-made jute products at Rohingya camp number five. In the afternoon, they returned to Dhaka.
