Dhaka Bureau: The court framed charges against Ruma Sarkar, assistant professor of Begum Badrunnessa Government Women’s College, in the Digital Security Act case at Ramna police station in the capital. Through this, the formal trial of the case began.
On Tuesday (November 8), Dhaka’s cyber tribunal judge AM Zulfikar Hayat’s court rejected the plea of acquittal and ordered the framing of charges. At the same time, the court fixed the date of taking evidence on April 23.
On this day, Ruma appeared in the government court. Meanwhile, the Ruma government claims to be innocent and demands justice. Besides, the lawyer on his behalf filed a hearing seeking exemption. The prosecution prayed for framing of charges against the accused. After hearing both parties, the court ordered the framing of charges against the accused. Shamim Al Mamun, bench assistant of the concerned tribunal, confirmed the matter.
