Own Correspondent: A fire has occurred in a lighter ship in Patenga Upazila, Chittagong.
The fire service, port, coast guard, and navy are working to put out the fire, which broke out around 12:30 on Friday (May 26).
Port Secretary Omar Farooq said that a lighter ship reported that the fishing boat caught fire. Immediately, the port tugboat Kandari-8, used for firefighting, was sent to the spot. The Coast Guard’s powerful vessel, Metal Shark, has rushed to the scene with firefighting equipment.
Damages from the fire were not immediately known.
