Dhaka Bureau: The police found a counterfeit money factory inside a garment factory in Savar’s Bongaon Union. Later, raids were conducted there, and three people were arrested along with 50 lakh and 17 thousand fake notes.
Dhaka District Superintendent of Police (SP) Asaduzzaman announced this at a press conference on Wednesday (May 24) around 1 pm.
The arrested are Sakhawat Hossain Khan (45), son of Zainal Abedin Khan of Digirchar Khan village of Muladi police station of Barisal district; Sujan Mia (30), son of Al Islam Sardar of Gayadhar village of Palong police station of Shariatpur district; and Nazmul Hossain (24) son of Manik Molla of Bayatikandi village of Muladi police station of Barisal district. Among them, Sakhawat Hossain Khan is the owner of the factory.
SP Asaduzzaman said that this morning a person went to buy litchi with fake money in front of Savar’s blind market. At that time, the shopkeeper identified the money given to him as fake. Later, local people arrested the person and reported him to the Savar police station. Later, the Savar police station conducted a raid on the factory in the Sadapur Puranbari area of Bangaon with the detained person. At that time, 50 lakh fake rupees were found ready in the factory. Later, three people were arrested.
He also said that during the interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that a factory for making fake notes was set up with the help of some former bank officials inside the garment factory. On the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, they were dreaming of owning a huge amount of money by using these fake notes in the cow market. They will be questioned more extensively.
