Dhaka Bureau: Chinese Vice Minister Sun Weidong is coming to Dhaka on a two-day visit. He will visit on Friday (May 26). He is scheduled to meet with Foreign Secretary Masoud Bin Momen on Saturday.
Apart from this, it is known that he may have a courtesy meeting with several members of the cabinet.
Sun Weidong’s visit will be the third visit of Beijing’s high-level delegation from China to Dhaka this year. During Sun Weidong’s visit, there will be detailed discussions between the two countries on various bilateral and international issues.
Basically, in the meeting with Foreign Secretary Masood Bin Momen, various issues of bilateral relations are to be discussed. In particular, cooperation in business, trade, investment, infrastructure development, the defense sector, and Bangladesh’s participation in China’s Global Development Initiative (GDI) can be discussed.
In addition to these bilateral issues, the foreign secretaries of the two countries are expected to discuss the situation surrounding the start of Rohingya repatriation initiated by China and the Russia-Ukraine war.
