Dhaka Bureau: The twelfth national election in Bangladesh may be held in January 2024. The embassy of the country has warned the citizens of the United States staying in Bangladesh around the elections. On Sunday (May 21), a warning message was posted on the embassy’s website in this regard.
The warning said that the next general election in Bangladesh is expected to be held before or during January 2024. Various political party rallies and other activities have already started around the election. As elections approach, political rallies and protests are likely to increase. The US Embassy in Bangladesh also said to the citizens of the country, ‘It should be remembered that peaceful protests can turn into clashes and violence. So be careful around protests and any large gatherings.
In that message, the US Embassy in Bangladesh advised people to review their personal security and be aware of local events and surroundings. At the same time, it has been said to focus on the local media to monitor the situation.
