Suman Sarkar (Gaibandha): Member of Bangabandhu Foundation Central Committee and President of India Committee Mir M M Shamim paid a courtesy call on Subrata Tagore, MLA of West Bengal Rajya Sabha elected from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and leader of Matua community. This meeting was held in a local hotel room in Kolkata on Sunday (May 14) evening. During the meeting, issues related to the interests of the two countries were discussed.
Incidentally, Subrata Tagore’s brother Shantanu Tagore is serving as the Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways in the Union Cabinet of India. His father Manjulakrishna Tagore and grandfather Pramatharanjan Tagore were also ministers in the West Bengal state government.
