Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that there has been a trend of imposing sanctions around the world. Bangladesh will not buy anything from the countries that will impose sanctions. I (the Prime Minister) have asked for a decision on this. Sanctions are imposed on those who fight terrorism in our country. I am saying that we will not buy anything from countries that sanction Bangladesh.
He said this while addressing the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the 60th convention of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) at the IEB premises on Saturday.
The Prime Minister said, “What will we do? Parents, brothers, and sisters have all been killed. I have nothing to lose, but I want to move my country forward.
Mentioning that engineers are the main strength of the country’s development, he said, “You are working relentlessly for the development of the people of the country.” As the Awami League government is in charge, Bangladesh is moving towards development. Everyone will be sincere so that we can continue this progress in development.

Mentioning that our aim is to make the country a ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2041, he said that they will implement the ‘Delta Plan-2100’ so that no one in the country suffers any more and that generation after generation will have a dignified and better life.
He said that the government never undertakes any unnecessary megaprojects. Many have talked a lot about the megaproject. But only after the completion of the projects will the benefits be enjoyed by the common people.
